What I'm Looking Forward to at LA Studio Art 14

My first residency is coming up this year in May.

A little about L.A Studio, The ART14 Residency was founded in 2023 in order to give artists a place to concentrate on projects in a comfortable, collaborative, and creative space. The ART14 Residency exists in conjunction with the L.a. Studio community’s art outreach and programming.

During their stay, artists’ objectives are self-prescribed. We welcome all types of artists, writers, musicians, etc. of all skill levels, welcome creators to explore new media and techniques, and encourage collaboration, but do not require it. We also encourage residents to explore and engage with the local community. As many of our artists' stays are exploratory, we do not require artists to produce deliverables or final products as part of the residency, though many opt to participate in a small presentation to the L.a. Studio team, their fellow artists, and members of the local community at the end of their stay.(direct from the website)

Of course, I'm looking forward to taking some deep time for my art practice. Im also excited about the stained glass and wood workshop, it's been a while since I've dived into something completely new, and especially ones that have a higher entry cost. There is a state park along with alot or other nature features, id like to get some solid plein air painting. And with this crazy world its such a honor to be able to take time for my art practice.
